Industry Leading ESG Tech Specialists, Utopi, announced as first tenant at EastWorks

Industry leading Environmental Social Governance (ESG) technology specialist, Utopi, are moving into the newly completed EastWorks in Dalmarnock as part of their business growth plans.

The company is the first tenant to move into the former Victorian era gas purifier shed as part of its strategy to bring more business investment into the area.

Utopi is the specialist ESG technology platform for the multi-tenant real estate sector, transforming the landscape of ESG data acquisition and helping build sustainable communities through their innovative solutions, their customers include Moda, Harrison Street Real Estate and Cortland. They currently have around 43 employees but have plans to expand their team to 60 by the end of the year, enabling them to continue their high growth phase and move into new markets in the United States after a multi-million pound investment from the Scottish National Investment Bank early 2023.

The building, which sits in Scotland’s first Green Regeneration Innovation District, was partly chosen due to its environmental credentials which fits with the ESG focus of Utopi.

EastWorks is the first commercial building to be connected to Clyde Gateway’s District Heating Network which was switched on in June by Deputy First Minister Shona Robison.  The network provides heat to the building and has been designed with a firm focus on low carbon principles. The building has also just been accredited with an EPC ‘A’ rating.

The £9m retro-fit of the gas purifier shed was part funded by the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund and Glasgow City Council, and has transformed a former gas purifier shed, dating back to 1843, into high quality, flexible offices, and studios.

EastWorks comes to the market at the perfect time, with supply of new offices across Glasgow being extremely low and most relocating businesses now looking for the highest quality offices to retain and attract the best staff.
